ECWA Hospital Egbe serves about 500,000 people in a 100-mile radius, who make a living as local traders, merchants, farmers and herdsmen. Many who come to the hospital cannot afford the already low-cost medical care and often delay needed treatment until the condition becomes life threatening! Sometimes it is too late, but…

Giving Saved Godwin's Life
Nine-year-old Godwin Peter was bitten by a poisonous snake while collecting firewood. ECWA Hospital Egbe provided life-saving treatment, including expensive anti-snake venom. Facing significant financial strain, assistance from the hospital’s Benevolent Fund spared the family from selling their remaining food to pay for treatment. Praise God!

Infrastructure Projects
Creation of an Egbe Solar Farm
The solar farm will power the Hospital, College of Nursing Sciences Academic and Residential campuses and the resident doctor and missionary residential complex. This involves transporting three 40-ft containers of solar panels (200KW capacity) from USA to Egbe; working with Samaritans Purse, I-Tech and other experts to acquire the components that go with the panels; purchase large back-up battery; set up the panels in a large, designated area in Egbe; and train a team of nationals to maintain the solar farm.
Help Build a New Male Ward
Join us in Building a New Male Ward – replacing the last original mud brick building built in the 1950’s to ensure that male patients receive safe, comfortable and dignified care when they need it most. Your participation in this initiative not only facilitates improved access to healthcare services but also embodies compassion through medical care; one of the hospital’s core values.
Build a Surgery Center in Nigeria
In Africa there is ONE surgeon for every 250,000 people. In rural areas there is only ONE surgeon for every 2.5 million people. Sadly, less than 50% of women living in rural Africa who need a C-section get one due to lack of equipment, surgeons, anesthetists and oxygen supply. Offering major surgery is critical in remote areas like Egbe. Your partnership is helping to change that! By supporting the construction of this surgery center, you’re playing a pivotal role in bringing essential medical services closer to communities where they are desperately needed.

Help Raise up a New Generation of Medical Staff
Sponsor a Nursing or Midwifery Student. Help more students graduate! By sponsoring the education of nursing or midwifery students, you are nurturing the development of compassionate, skilled caregivers who will serve on the front lines of health and wellness. Your sponsorship enables these students to receive the training, knowledge, and hands-on experience necessary to deliver quality care to individuals and families, particularly in underserved communities where access to healthcare is limited. In a country that has 1 doctor to 1,000 people, most who work in the cities, physicians serving in rural areas are critical.

Purchasing essential equipment such as defibrillators, ventilators, monitors, and other lifesaving devices, is key to enabling the hospital to respond effectively to emergencies, treat severe illnesses, and improve overall patient care. In many cases, the right equipment, suitable for rural Nigeria, is the difference between life and death.

Provide Nursing Students With Access to Meals
At the ECWA College of Nursing Sciences in Nigeria, students are training to become the nation’s future nurses. They study long hours, driven by the hope of building a stable future in a country facing deep economic hardship.
But many are going through college with only one meal a day.
Help Build a Community Pharmacy in Rural Nigeria
Improve access to essential, quality medications by contributing to the creation of a community-based pharmacy located in the town of Egbe. This project not only provides access to medications but also offers health education, preventive care and a reliable healthcare resource – avoiding fake drugs and un-credentialed pharmacists that community members can afford.
Donors Helped Save Sabitu
A young boy at Egbe Hospital’s ER, initially stable but later deteriorating rapidly. Despite financial constraints, the hospital intervened swiftly, draining his lungs in the operating room. Now in recovery in the ICU, Sabitu’s lifesaving treatment was made possible by the hospital’s Benevolent Fund, supported by generous donors.
