About Egbe Medical Mission

Egbe Medical Mission

Mission and Vision

Share the love of Christ as we provide medical and training excellence in a rural environment ensuring sustainability through healthcare, training, mentoring and technology.

Progress on the Vision

The Egbe community, hospital staff, Nigerian businessmen, donors, volunteers and missionaries have transformed the hospital complex over the past 10 years. The best way to tell the story is to show how the community came together to help tear down the old buildings leading the way for the Revitalization Project.

Egbe Medical Mission: Hospital Initative

Join in the Revitalization

In many places in Africa, a child who has malaria, dysentery, or appendicitis, may face death if there is no medical care for over 100 miles of treacherous roads. The vision for Egbe Hospital is to change this reality forever.

Egbe Medical Mission Impact on ECWA Egbe Hospital

Our desire is to have a medical complex in the bush that is staffed by qualified Christ-followers and educators with a mission-minded focus on raising up the next generation of healthcare providers in Nigeria. The result is academic excellence and physical healing, creating a huge impact in the region and the Kingdom. It is a true privilege to witness this impact.

Egbe Medical Mission: College Initiative

Revitalizing Together

The infrastructure, buildings and curriculum are being completely modernized but the vision remains the same – To train nurses who will provide excellence in health care while proclaiming the Gospel in Egbe and throughout Nigeria.

Egbe Medical Mission Impact on ECWA School of Nursing

In 1955 the ECWA School of Nursing was launched, followed by the School of Midwifery in 1977 – both with the mission of training nurses for service at Egbe Hospital and throughout Nigeria. Now 64 years later the Revitalization of the Schools of Nursing and Midwifery has begun!

The infrastructure, buildings and curriculum are being completely modernized but the vision remains the same – To train nurses who will provide excellence in health care while proclaiming the Gospel in Egbe and throughout Nigeria.

Egbe Medical Mission: Community Initiatives

A Thriving Community

Not only does Egbe Medical Mission work on the medical complex, our efforts and impact stream out into the community of Egbe.

Egbe Medical Mission Impact on Egbe's Community

The revitalization efforts in the area encompass a multifaceted approach aimed at improving both healthcare and socio-economic conditions. Outreach programs targeting villages offer medical, surgical, eye and dental services, supplemented by health education initiatives conducted through community events and weekly radio broadcasts featuring health tips from hospital staff. Additionally, container shops near the hospital and college provide local businesses with commercial space, while solar streetlights and free water provision enhance infrastructure. Regular engagement with community leaders fosters collaboration, while the revitalization project’s role in boosting the local economy is evident through increased employment opportunities and skill development. Notably, the community’s active participation, including volunteering manpower, resources, finances and prayers, reflects a rare level of connection and ownership. Moreover, this initiative has inspired the community to undertake their own improvement efforts, such as road maintenance and addressing infrastructure challenges, signaling a broader commitment to local development.
