A New Intensive Care Unit at Egbe Hospital in Egbe, Nigeria

Last month there were songs and prayers of thanksgiving at Egbe Hospital to celebrate the dedication of the new Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Your donations have made this milestone possible.

As the hospital continued to grow, it became clear that the critical care component of the hospital needed to grow to respond to an increase in trauma cases, surgical cases, road accidents, and life-threatening medical cases. What began as a dream spearheaded by the hospital’s leadership has culminated in the ICU dedication after months of planning and training.

Three staff nurses have received specific theoretical and practical ICU training, the infrastructure for the ICU was modified to accommodate five beds and a nursing station, and basic medical equipment was set up. Additional equipment, like monitors, infusion pumps, and ventilators, are currently being sourced and will be installed by a team of biomeds joining us on our next trip to Egbe. Would you consider a donation toward more ICU equipment to complete the project? Click here to donate.

The hospital’s medical mission takes place against a backdrop of insecurity as Nigerians cope with the outcomes of a national election, a changeover of currency, rising inflation, and unstable electricity. Your prayers and support are needed now more than ever.

Thank you for being a part of this life-changing mission.
